Grant access to your disk

The first time you scan, Spacedog shows an Open panel. Select Macintosh HD and click Grant Access. Spacedog remembers this, so you only do it once.

Include protected folders

macOS hides some folders, like Mail and Messages, from every app by default. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access, turn on Spacedog, then rescan.

Get something back from the Trash

Spacedog only ever moves items to the Trash. Open the Trash in the Dock, right-click the item and choose Put Back. Once you empty the Trash, the space is freed and the item is gone.

Restore a Pro purchase

Open Spacedog → Settings → Pro and click Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with.
